Celebrating Community at Fort Collins Bike to Work Day

Bike to Work Day is one of Fort Collins’ favorite community traditions. It encourages residents to swap their cars for bicycles while celebrating the city’s extensive trail system, healthy lifestyle, and commitment to sustainable transportation. Hosted as part of Colorado Bike Month, the event features dozens of stations across the city where local businesses and organizations welcome riders with free food, drinks, giveaways, and plenty of encouragement.

Bringing the Tropics to the Trail

This year, the Edge Optics team transformed our station into a tropical getaway. Complete with bright decorations and a fun summer atmosphere, we welcomed more than 400 cyclists throughout the day. From 6:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m., riders stopped by to cool off with soft drinks and popsicles, clean their glasses with complimentary lens cleaners, and pick up Edge Optics goodie bags before continuing their ride.

Connecting with the Community

One of the best parts of the day was connecting with so many members of the Fort Collins community. Whether someone was commuting to work, riding with family, or simply enjoying the event, Bike to Work Day created an opportunity for neighbors to meet, local businesses to give back, and everyone to celebrate what makes Fort Collins such a bike-friendly city.

Why Community Matters to Edge Optics

As an independent optical practice, community involvement is an important part of who we are. We love supporting local events that bring people together while promoting healthy, active lifestyles. Seeing hundreds of smiling faces stop by our station reminded us that small moments of connection can make a big impact.
