Dr. Alyssa Horstman

Dr. Alyssa Horstman was born and raised in Frankenmuth, Michigan. She had such a great experience with her hometown optometrist getting glasses in the second grade that she decided her life goal was to be an optometrist in the ninth grade! After attending the University of Michigan and majoring in Neuroscience, she moved to Boston to attend the New England College of Optometry. Dr. Horstman graduated as the Valedictorian of her class, then moved to Kansas City, Missouri to simultaneously marry her college sweetheart and complete a residency in Ocular Disease. After 2 1/2 years in KC, Dr. Horstman moved to Las Vegas, NV to support her Air Force husband, but found work in rural Alaska, providing eye care to Native Alaskans in the Bristol Bay region.

Dr. Horstman moved to Longmont, Colorado in 2025 to live down the road from her sister and soak up the myriad of adventures Colorado has to offer! From seeing young kiddos to the elderly population, Dr. Horstman enjoys practicing the full scope of optometry.

Outside of work, Dr. Horstman loves exploring what Colorado has to offer-from browsing the shelves at an indie bookstore, to scoping out the best hiking spots, or trying out new restaurants, she is excited to be immersed in the lifestyle of this glorious state!
