Find Lasting Relief from Dry Eye with InMode IPL Therapy
If your eyes constantly feel dry, irritated, or tired, you are not alone. Dry eye disease affects millions of people and can make everyday activities like reading, driving, or using a computer uncomfortable. While eye drops may provide temporary relief, they often do not address the underlying cause.
At Edge Optics, we are proud to offer InMode Intense Pulsed Light, or IPL, therapy, an advanced treatment that targets one of the most common causes of chronic dry eye. Under the care of Dr. Mason Bryant and licensed aesthetician Ashley Hunter, patients can receive personalized treatment designed to improve long term eye comfort.
What Is IPL Therapy?
IPL is a gentle, noninvasive light based treatment that uses carefully controlled pulses of light to reduce inflammation around the eyes and improve the function of the meibomian glands. These tiny glands along your eyelids produce the oils that keep your tears from evaporating too quickly.
When the glands become clogged or inflamed, a condition known as Meibomian Gland Dysfunction, the tear film becomes unstable, leading to many of the symptoms associated with dry eye disease. IPL helps restore healthier gland function so your eyes can produce a more stable tear film.
Who Can Benefit?
IPL therapy may be an excellent option for people who experience symptoms such as:
-Dryness
-Burning or stinging
-Red, irritated eyes
-Watery eyes
-Gritty or sandy sensations
-Blurred vision that improves after blinking
Many patients who have tried artificial tears, warm compresses, or other treatments without lasting relief find that IPL provides a meaningful improvement by addressing the source of the problem rather than simply masking the symptoms.
What to Expect During Treatment
IPL treatments are quick, comfortable, and require little to no downtime. During the procedure, gentle pulses of light are applied to the skin around the eyes. Most patients describe the sensation as a brief snap of warmth.
For the best results, a series of treatments is typically recommended based on your individual needs. Before beginning treatment, Dr. Bryant performs a comprehensive dry eye evaluation to determine whether IPL is the right solution for your eyes.
